Herbal teas for winter

What can be any better than sipping on your favorite tea on a cold winter night, or even in the daytime (basically anytime), is like covering yourself in a comfortable blanket. A hot cup of tea will satisfy your craving immediately, also by drinking the right tea, it will improve your mood, and help you relax at the end of a tiresome day or even in the middle of the day, Tea can also provide a wonderful pick-me-up when you take a mini-break in the midst of your busy schedule.

Here are a few teas to consider introducing into your daily nutrition and wellness routine this winter.

Chai Tea

This tea is a staple in my household, Our Chocolate chai tops the list of winter teas for a lot of people; but not without good reason. Rooibos tea itself is good for the heart, and assists in the prevention of chronic and serious diseases by lowering cholesterol and the risk of diabetes, as well as alleviating stress. Here is what is in our chai tea ginger, cardamom, Cocoa, and chocolate chips – the ingredients have anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving, and mood-uplifting properties. You can brew our chai with milk or water ever you choose. (I love heating up a cup of milk and adding the tea right into the pot with the milk when it gets warm I strain the milk through a strainer to get the herbal tea out then I place the tea back into the pot and start another pot, as I use my tea up to 3x before getting rid of it).

Spearmint is an amazing herb all on its own. We use it as a tea because it is amazing for aiding in nausea, vomiting, and other common issues that have to do with digestion. This tea can be an aid to IBS, bloating, gas as well as constipation and diarrhea. This tea will be a great addition for women if they are trying to balance hormones. This tea is one of the world’s favorite teas. Chamomile has a smooth flavor that comes with many benefits. Some of these benefits are enhancing the immune system, lowering the risk of developing heart disease, aiding in fevers, stress, and sleep, assisting in digestion, and bone health as well as helping with muscle spasms. One unique way to use this tea is to rinse your hair with it after brewing and letting it cool as it will help your scalp stay healthy and rid it of dandruff.
