Description
Scent: Sweet Birch has a root beer candy-like scent that is spicy, sweet and uplifting. It is similar to Wintergreen but slightly sweeter.
Blends With: Chamomile, Frankincense, Lemon.
For use on the skin (i.e. Topical Application): Dilute up to 1-2% in any carrier oil; 2% is approximately 1 teaspoon (5ml) of essential oil per 1 cup (250ml) of carrier oil, or about 10 drops essential oil to a tablespoon (15 ml) of carrier oil.
Migraines: Diffusion or Topical Application on forehead or any other part of the head and neck where the pain seems to originate, 2% in any carrier oil.
Cellulite: Aromatic Bath, Topical Application.
Muscle, joint pain: Aromatic Bath, Topical Application.
Safety Precautions:
Sweet Birch is harmful in high concentrations. It can cause poisoning by absorption through the skin. Use very small amounts. Avoid using it during pregnancy. In the bath, make sure it is properly dispersed by using an emulsifier like liquid soap. Birch oil should not be used for children 3 years of age and younger.
